Shelled Chestnuts
Our chestnuts are grown in the Yanshan Mountain region of the Hebei province of China, which is historically known as the region producing the best chestnuts in the world. Experts are sent there every year to trace and inspect the growth.
Absolutely no pesticides - just fresh, clean water
There are no pesticides, chemical fertilizer or food additives added during the growing and production process. The chestnuts are sprayed with fresh, clean water only.

Our process
The technology is provided by Kanebo Foods of Japan and uses advanced production procedures including foil packaging, high temperature, high pressure and steamed processing technology.
The process involves:
- Lowering temperature to increase sweetness
- Sorting and grading of raw material
- Roasting
- Removing Shells
- Foil packing in N² (protective atmosphere) and seal
- Finally high pressure, high temp process
Organic Certification
The entire pre-production process is inspected annually by OMIC (Japanese government appointed Organic Food Certification Board) which is known for being the strictest and most rigorous organic inspection agency in the world. OMIC conducts annual checks on the product from growing and picking to production, storage, shipping, documentation management and product tracking. We are proud to have been granted OMIC - JAS certification since 2003 for both our factory and the source. |
